After all these weeks, we finally meet Michael The Archangel, and he’s set for his big scene with the Devil. Or is it the Anti-Christ? Or is that Evil King? Well, six of one.

I remember the day, many years ago now, when my teenage son saved a volunteer at the Taos Museum from death by pure apoplectic fury after she dealt with two fantastically rude and boorish visitors.

We come, finally, to the Book of Daniel, he of the Lion’s Den. Very soon, that will take us to Michael.

I recall staying in the “Fechin Inn,” seeing the works of Fechin himself, and meeting...oh my!...his daughter, the famous artist, model, and dancer Eya Fechin.

We meet the brutal Alexander Jannaeus, first of the Hasmoneans to openly call himself king.

Taos and memories when jogging was "weird."

While waiting for angels, we meet “The Hammer,” and the Maccabees.

I remember Taos, Al’s Run, and the oh-so-naughty Mr. D.H. Lawrence.

We meet some really, Really, REALLY corrupt High Priests, and things in Jerusalem get complicated.

We bail out of a bar, bail into a Gorge, and finally get something to eat in Taos.

We meet Alexander (“the Great”), some Diadochi (“the successors”), Antiochus IV Epiphanes (“The Bad Guy”), and ...eventually...a batch of Maccabees (“The Good Guys”...sort of).

We have a pleasant evening at the hotel, complete with a wee fire in a kiva fireplace.

We meet Ezra. Maybe not the nicest of dudes. Or maybe he just got a bad rep.

Meet the Cottonwood--one ‘ell of a terrific tree.

The Judean elites return from exile...for better, and sometimes, for worse.

We head to Taos, home to 1000 years of history, and not a few amazing artists.

We meet Cyrus The Great, conqueror and liberator.

I get an angelic noogie. Okay, maybe not really. But it is a great image.

Cafes, Flying Dogs, and a velociraptor on a velocipede. What more could you ask?
