Hey, Everyone,
Something a little different today. I’m taking a break from talking about Marfa (stay tuned. I’ll be picking up on Thursday), and, instead, I’m going to show off my newest little acquisition--a backyard Casita/Office.
Here’s the deal. When we moved from New Mexico, we bought a smaller house. It is a great house, but it turned out to be just a tad too little. So, after several years of dithering, we finally had an outbuilding constructed in the backyard. It is now my office. Martha will get the whole bedroom we *were* using as an office, as well as part of the guest room, so that she actually has the space she needs for both her work and her hobbies (like working with beads).
The Casita was completed this week. It now has power, light, and air conditioning. And, to celebrate, we had a little Casita warming party this afternoon. We had the grandkids up from Austin, and several neighbors (with some of their lovely children) came over for ice cream and cookies.
Anyway, here’s some pictures. I hope you like them.
cheers

p.s. Yes, that is a Biden/Harris sign you see. We got it back when he was still running. When President Biden withdrew, we purchased a flock of Harris/Walz signs and those are in the front yard as we speak. But we hated to get rid of the Biden sign, so...what the heck?...we put it in front of the Casita.

Care to help out?
I provide these blog postings for free. That’s fine and I’m happy to do so. But, long ago and far away, I was told that if you give away your material, that means you don’t really think it has any value.
So, to get beyond that, I’ve decided to make it possible for you to leave me a “tip” for my posts.
If you like what I write or the videos I produce, and feel you could make a small contribution to support my efforts, please go here:
That will take you to a Gumroad page where you’ll have the option of leaving me a few pence by way of encouragement.
Again, I don’t mind if you don’t. I just want to provide you with the option so that I won’t feel quite so much like I’m just tossing my works into the wind.
Either way, thanks hugely for dropping by the blog :-)
