A quick note

Hi, Everyone,

A couple of things. First, Padre, the book I wrote about my parents’ passing, has just received a terrific review from The Red Haired Book Lover! I’m incredibly flattered and honored by her kind words.

Please see her review here:

If you subscribe to my newsletter, you already knew that, but I figured good news bears repeating.

Second, some scheduling issues. I’ll be out of pocket from this Wednesday (March 5) through Thursday (March 13). So I won’t be posting my travel blog again until at least Thursday after next (i.e., March 13), and maybe not then depending on how jetlagged I am 🙂

But, I’ll try to post a few notes while I'm in transit before then just to say Hi. And I’ll definitely be back by Sunday, March 16.

And, yes, I hope to come back from this trip with yet another story.

Oh, and on the off chance you’re a potential burglar, the house is being watched in our absence. Besides, we’ve got two feral cats living under the porch. And they don’t take prisoners.

In a word...Meow!

Anyway, take care, and I’ll be back soon.

cheers

~mjt

Walking To Wimberley

Welcome to Wimberley, Texas—where the cypress trees lean over lazy rivers, the cowboy boots are ten feet tall (and painted like rainbows), and the coffee shops echo with guitars and gossip.

In Walking to Wimberley, Michael Jay Tucker invites you to join him on a meandering, thoughtful, and often hilarious journey through one of Texas’s most charming Hill Country towns. Based on his popular blog entries, this collection of travel essays explores Wimberley’s art, history, music, and mystery—with the dry wit of a seasoned traveler and the wide-eyed wonder of a first-time visitor.

Whether he’s hunting for the perfect taco, pondering the existential meaning of oversized footwear, or just trying to find parking on market day, Tucker brings Wimberley to life with style, warmth, and just a hint of mischief.

Come for the scenery. Stay for the stories. Bring your boots.
