Making Progress…or something like it

Hi, Everyone,

Well, I seem to be making progress. I’m not sure what direction I’m going, but at least I’m in motion.

Here’s the thing: you’ll recall that I had started to reproduce here “the Martha Chronicles,” which is a collection of Facebook postings I did to keep our friends informed about Martha’s recovery after her nasty fall back in January. But…then I decided to make them into a short book, instead.

Well, the book’s done! At least the PDF version of the book is finished. You can download the file, for free, from this webpage. Specifically, go to the Free Books section of this site, which is here:

Then scroll down to “The Martha Chronicles.” You’ll see a picture of the cover (on the right) and a short description of the work (on the left). Below that, you’ll see a button that reads “download.” Hit the button, and the book should open in your browser as a readable PDF file.

You can read it online, or, you can download it (most browsers give you that option somewhere along the way). You can then read it on your computer at your leisure.

So, if you want to have the book in PDF form, it’s there. Oh, and, as I say, it is free. (At the very end of the book, I’ve put in a link to my “buy me a cup of coffee” page, but it is entirely fine if you’d rather not. I put in that link mostly as a matter of form.)

And...and...

Yes. I’m working on making it into a printed, hardcopy book as well. I’ll let you know when it is ready.

So, if you download it, I do hope you enjoy The Martha Chronicles!

Oh, and next week? I think I will start posting here “the Martha plus Michael Chronicles,” which is the story of our dedicated efforts to stomp our ennui like it was a bug.

Until next time…

Onward and Upward.

Walking To Wimberley

Welcome to Wimberley, Texas—where the cypress trees lean over lazy rivers, the cowboy boots are ten feet tall (and painted like rainbows), and the coffee shops echo with guitars and gossip.

In Walking to Wimberley, Michael Jay Tucker invites you to join him on a meandering, thoughtful, and often hilarious journey through one of Texas’s most charming Hill Country towns. Based on his popular blog entries, this collection of travel essays explores Wimberley’s art, history, music, and mystery—with the dry wit of a seasoned traveler and the wide-eyed wonder of a first-time visitor.

Whether he’s hunting for the perfect taco, pondering the existential meaning of oversized footwear, or just trying to find parking on market day, Tucker brings Wimberley to life with style, warmth, and just a hint of mischief.

Come for the scenery. Stay for the stories. Bring your boots.
